One of the best meals I've had in Manchester in a long time. We ordered two mains (200g steak and turkey schnitzel) along with two sides to share. Everything was absolutely delicious, the steak was cooked just how we like it. The portion sizes were also good. The servers were friendly and chatty, taking the time to guide us through the menu, which was really helpful

So this is a slightly strange review because we didn’t come for food but ended up ordering a small selection of delicious bits, guided by our cravings. Medlock is really great. Situated in the Deansgate Square area of Manchester which, is a little like being in a mini Canary Wharf (London). Lots of new high rises and in some respects not much atmosphere! But, step inside Medlock and slip into something lovely. The ‘70’s styled wood panelling in a slightly industrial setting is cool - and as a complimentary aspect, the service is warm. A perfect combination. So, where was I? Oh yes, the food. We ordered a bottle of delicious Muscadet and then watched food being delivered to other tables...a plate of mussels perhaps? Hell yes. Plump, in a pool of creamy sauce split with a dill oil. Hello. Then we needed to order freshly baked sourdough with garlic butter to mop up the sauce. Then we spotted another table receiving a plate of mashed potato swimming in butter. We needed that in our lives. About to leave then the cocktails called. Oh well...what a lovely interlude. Excellent experience from start to finish. Great ambience, great service and food to match, so ticks all the boxes. The Turkey schnitzel was fantastic but don't be fooled, it's easily a two person portion! The cocktails were ordered were also top notch. Will be coming back to this one. Should be one you add to your own list for a visit.

Absolutely boss. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly which I really appreciated. The food was incredible. We had the turkey parmo, cabbage and leeks and 50/50 mash plus the rhubarb pie to share for pudding. Some of the best comfort food I’ve had in ages. Plus the cocktails were gorgeous. Will definitely be coming back!

I’ve visited this restaurant twice in the past week, and it has quickly become one of my favorites. I really appreciate their steak and turkey salad, which I ordered in a large portion that turned out to be bigger than I expected. The flavors were absolutely delicious, and I couldn’t help but recommend it to my friends. Because of this, I brought a friend along with me on Sunday to introduce them to the place. This time, we decided to try the Sunday Roast. While the steak was a bit tougher than before, the overall experience was still enjoyable. The atmosphere and service were consistently excellent, and the staff were as welcoming as ever. One of the reasons I’ll keep coming back is their cheese balls, which are my daughter’s absolute favorite. She loves them so much that she asks to visit the restaurant almost every day! It’s wonderful to find a place that not only serves amazing food but also creates such memorable experiences for my family. Despite the slight inconsistency in the steak this time, I’m happy to keep supporting them, and I look forward to trying more dishes in the future.

They serve an amazing hot breakfast and everything tasted amazing, just look at the portion! The sets comes with a free tea and coffee too. Halfway through though we felt it was a little hard to finish because everything is deep fried/oily and we thought it would be nice to have something refreshing or a smalll salad on the side. It's not something you can eat every day, but it was one of the best breakfasts I've had! Our hostess/server was also very welcoming and super sweet, the place has a great vibe overall :)

Our second visit here didn't disappoint. Don't let the quietly understated menu put you off. This is an accomplished restaurant that's worthy of a visit. Our table for 2 had a bit of a wobble and, as with almost all similar restaurants, was a little tight for space with a small plate/sharing menu. But that didn't spoil the experience in any significant way and we left pleasantly full having spent less than we thought we might have. We'd happily pay a third visit.

We were delighted and extremely satisfied with the quality of food that was served. Not to mention a healthy quantity portion. Amazing taste exceptional quality and u can see this Cheff take care in what he serves. Loved the pickled fennel on the muscles and the roast dinner very good. Deserts were so delicious. So good to see great restaurants opening in this area for the locals to enjoy. We will definitely visit on Sundays for our roast and very keen to try other dishes and the breakfast. Great service with the waiters. A hidden gem in Manchester. Thank you
